How we work

Our motto: We are there with the animals

We:
accompany the animals on their way to slaughter
fight against abuse, torture and exploitation of animals
inform the public about deficiencies and non-compliances identified in transport and slaughter conditions

We only confirm what we have seen with our own eyes. For this reason the information we provide is considered serious, reliable and trustworthy.

Our teams carry out on-site investigations in slaughterhouses, ports, supply stations, border control stations and at livestock markets and are on the road all across Europe and other parts of the world, accompanying animal transport trucks.

The results of our campaigns are documented in reports, supported by photographs and video footage and are passed on to the relevant authorities in order to submit complaints, grievances, file charges or initiate further measures. Animals’ Angels cooperates with animal welfare organisations worldwide and is in regular contact with the various veterinary authorities and police forces.

Our strategy

By specialising in one specific area, we can maintain focus and prevent getting bogged down. We see ourselves as specialists supplying information and basic data that the authorities and other organisations can use to take further measures, seek protection or organise publicity campaigns in support of the animals.

As a result of this approach to our work, Animals’ Angels since its foundation in 1998, has become a recognised authority on the livestock transport business – we enjoy respect from veterinarians and the police, from drivers of animal transport trucks and from hauliers. The organisation submits solidly researched reports that the competent authorities cannot ignore.
