Everyone talks about the milk – we talk about the cow
 
News about milk prices, milk production and dairy farmers abound in the media. However, importantly information about the cows is completely missing. Information like this:

• In order to produce milk, a cow must give birth to a calf each year

• Immediately after birth, the newborn calf is taken away from its mother, who will cry out and search for her offspring for days

• Hundreds of thousands of cows across Europe are kept tethered in the same place for their entire lives

• Again and again downer cows, who are too sick or weak to walk into the transport trucks on their own, are dragged to slaughter using chains and winches

• Many cows produce so much milk that they suffer from permanent pain in the hips and hind legs


If you want to help us to raise awareness and alert the public, become a PR agent for the cows!

While everyone talks and moans about the milk and falling milk prices, we talk about the cow and her suffering.

Unfortunately, it is not easy to get the media interested in cows. Farmers, with their multi-million Euro lobby, have managed for years to keep their profits a secret, to prevent their methods from being published and to build and maintain their image of the good farmer stroking a happy cow’s forehead in a green, flowery meadow...
 
That is why Animals’ Angels has now launched an information campaign.

As a first step, we would like to run advertisements conveying basic information.  Unfortunately, to have such advertisements published are expensive. 

We therefore ask for your help!  This is how you can help support our PR activities:

• You might be able to find a way to publish our “cow” advertisement free of charge.

• You could ask your regional newspaper about advertisement rates and arrange for our “cow” advertisement to be placed in a format that you would like to sponsor, either as a single advertisement or a series of advertisements.

• Join with friends to have our “cow” advertisement published in a major newspaper, either as a single advertisement or a series of advertisements.

• You could ask your local public transport networks about the cost of displaying our advertisement in subway cars, urban trains or buses and then contact us to let us know of the costs. Maybe we might find a way to provide the funding.

• You may wish to donate an amount of your choice, specifying “cow PR“, so that we know the purpose of the donation.

This campaign is aimed at placing as many advertisements as possible in small and large newspapers and magazines, thus raising awareness and alerting people. The focus will of course be on the cows, rather than on us as Animals’ Angels.

We admit that it seems almost impossible to undertake such a big task with so little funds. The milk lobby has millions of Euros while we do not even have enough money for big billboards in a few cities. But we have friends. The cows have friends. And as history has shown us, successful changes happen when ordinary people join together. Ordinary people that have a big heart and an inbuilt morality for justice. People like you and us.

We would like to ask for your practical help and ongoing support. We must make sure that people around us think about the cost to the cows instead of the financial cost of milk.
